Enable sideloading on Fire TV
Install Downloader from the Amazon Appstore. Open Settings → My Fire TV → Developer options. Turn on Apps from Unknown Sources for Downloader. If Developer options is hidden, tap the Fire TV build number seven times.
Sideload the APK with Downloader
- Open Downloader Launch the app and allow storage access when prompted.
- Enter the URL Use the download link from our download page after the timer unlocks.
- Install When the download finishes, tap Install and wait for verification.
- Clean up Delete the APK file afterward to free space on 8 GB sticks.
USB install option
Fire TV Stick 4K models with USB OTG support can install from a thumb drive. Copy SmartTube_stable_31.94_universal.apk on a PC, plug the drive into an OTG adapter, and open the file with a file manager.
Fire TV troubleshooting
If SmartTube will not open after an Amazon system update, reinstall the latest stable APK. Network errors in Downloader usually mean the download link needs to be re-entered. Restart the stick if the remote feels sluggish during 4K playback.
